LOS ANGELES, California (AP)– It’s not easy being Al Reynolds these days.

The soon-to-be ex-husband of Star Jones says he’s “been called a gigolo, a freeloader, unemployed, a sham and many other things that don’t bear repeating” since Jones filed for divorce in March.

Reynolds posted a 485-word rant on MySpace and Facebook on Tuesday, using the social-networking Web sites to air his frustrations with media coverage.

“If you think you are having a tough day, may I propose you walk in my shoes for a few hours,” reads the opening line. “In my mind, it feels like ‘Dump on Al Month.”‘

His publicist issued Reynolds’ only official statement on his split from Jones after three years of marriage: “We are taking the high road.”

“As much as I want to defend myself, it seems like a silly and futile exercise,” Reynolds writes. “It’s clear that the media doesn’t want to let the truth get in the way of a good story. I hate to ruin their fun.”

Still, he spends the bulk of the time explaining himself and defending his marriage.

“I know in my heart that I entered my marriage with love and the best of intentions and leave it with great sadness that it didn’t work,” he writes, going on to explain that he “grew up in a working class home, a mobile home in fact.”

He discusses his current pursuits — “follow(ing) my entrepreneurial spirit in the world of business and investment while completing my doctorate in Organizational Leadership” — and notes that “a guy is entitled to a little fun, after all.”

“I am complex, contradictory and capable of great intelligence but also remarkable stupidity. In other words, I am a human being,” he writes.

“Please don’t try to define me; don’t try to categorize me; and most of all, don’t label me. Instead, JUST GET TO KNOW ME.”

Guess she left what dignity she had behind when she revealed her decades old affair to Oprah!

Barbara Walters and Star Jones

Barbara Walters is staying quiet about Star Jones’ recent comments on her new memoir, Audition.

Jones spoke about Walters’ tell-all, which chronicles her affair with a married senator in the 1970s. (Jones said “It is a sad day when an icon like Barbara Walters, in the sunset of her life, is reduced to publicly branding herself as an adulterer, humiliating an innocent family with accounts of her illicit affair and speaking negatively against me all for the sake of selling a book,” Jones told Us. “It speaks to her true character.”)

When contacted by Us, Walters’ rep said, “I will not dignify this with a comment. Barbara’s written words say it all!”

Dwyane Wade on Star Jones rumors: We’re just friends

Dwyane Wade has finally spoken up about his alleged romance with Star Jones: “Star is an unbelievable woman. We have a great, great relationship. As friends.”

“We’re friends, just like a lot of celebrities. We are friends,” the pro basketball star said Thursday during a guest appearance on “Inside the NBA,” the jocular TNT show featuring Charles Barkley, Kenny Smith and Ernie Johnson.

“Are y’all close friends?” Smith asked.

“We’re good friends,” Wade responded.

“Are you the kind of friends that drink out of one cup with two straws?” Smith persisted, referring to a much-discussed photo of Wade, 26, and Jones, the 46-year-old TV personality who recently filed for divorce, at a tennis match. “Those kind of friends?”

“We are friends. That’s all,” said Wade, who is married to his high school sweetheart and has two sons.

“Good friends?” Barkley interjected.

“Naw, Chuck,” Wade said with a smile.

Some hilarity ensued. Barkley broke through the commotion to say, “I like Star. She’s a cougar.”

“What’s a cougar?” Smith asked, not so innocently, a perfect lob to Barkley.

Sir Charles promptly slammed the ball home: “Preying on a young Dwyane Wade.”

Representatives for Jones did not immediately return a call for comment Thursday night

Say It Ain’t So: Dwayne Wade Dating Star Jones? May 2, 2008

According to various reports, Star Jones – one day removed from announcing her divorce from Al Reynolds – is dating NBA superstar Dwyane Wade. This rumor leaves us speechless, likely because there’s too much vomit creeping into our mouths, making it impossible to put words together.

Star Jones and Dwyane Wade

We shudder at the thought: Star Jones and Dwyane Wade, seen here at a recent tennis match, are dating.

We know Wade’s Miami Heat had an awful 2007-2008 season, but doesn’t Dwyane realize that he’s better than this? That his dating life needn’t reflect his team’s performance on the court? That Star Jones is an ugly media whore? That he lives in Miami, the nation’s hub for bikini-clad women?

We haven’t seen this mismatched of a couple since that apple dated that orange. Or Jason Wahler dated Lauren Conrad. Scumbag.
